US cable network Science is to air an original feature-length Star Trek documentary produced by the makers of the long-running science fiction series.
Roddenberry Entertainment will coproduce the documentary with New Animal Productions and Atmosphere Pictures. It will air on Science in the US in the autumn.
George Lucas and Stan Lee will be among the contributors to Trek Nation, which aims to explore the popularity of Star Trek and the man who created it, the late Gene Roddenberry.
Eugene 'Rod' Roddenberry, Gene's son, is leading the project as executive producer.
Last week, C21 reported that Canada's Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group is developing an animated children's comedy series based on the childhood experiences of Roddenberry senior.
